Refugees, asylum seekers, and others in forced displacement can face extreme hardship due to food, housing, and income insecurity, family separation, social exclusion, and other factors, while they have greater health needs.
Our multi-country research project hosted by the Global Health Centre aims to:
- Explore the stories and experiences of refugees, aslyum seekers, and others in forced displacement during their migration journeys and their current living conditions;
- Learn about the various strategies they have used to manage the challenges they face, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through conversations conducted with our research team we are interested in
- Learning what the impact on refugees, asylum seekers, and other displaced persons health is, especially their sexual and reproductive health, as well as mental health needs and access to services;
- Hearing about the hopes and aspirations of refugees, asylum seekers, and others in forced displacement.
Our goal is
- to provide guidance on how to improve refugees’, asylum-seekers’, and other displaced persons’ living conditions, and address their sexual and reproductive health, and mental health needs.
