Seminars & Events

We organize seminars, lectures and academic conferences where eminent academics and policymakers present their research.  We also regularly hold events tailored towards getting our PhD students ready for the job market.

  • Vilfredo Pareto Research Seminar: weekly series with invited researchers presenting their latest work. The seminar takes place on Tuesdays, early afternoons.
  • Brown Bag Lunch: weekly series with professors and doctoral students presenting their ongoing research.
  • PhD day and Development Therapy: once a semester, PhD students present their research in front of their peers and faculty members.
  • The Macro Lunch: an informal monthly meeting aimed at providing a forum for students and professors to discuss current macroeconomic events, and questions relating to individual research.
  • CIES ECON Seminars: series organised jointly by the IE department and the CIES aiming to bring top scholars in Europe to give guest lectures on their recent research or research in progress.
