The GTDW Geneva Trade and Development Workshop was initiated in 2008 as a joint project of the Graduate Institute’s Centre for Trade and Economic Integration (CTEI), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the University of Geneva and the World Trade Organization. Its aim is to allow academics and researchers in the Geneva region working in the area of trade and development to share work and ideas as well as to improve their contact with researchers outside the region. By providing a forum for discussion, the workshop supports high-quality research and facilitates outreach to policy makers.
The series was launched on Friday, February 22nd 2008, with a presentation by Hylke Vandenbussche from the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve.
Selection of papers
A panel of academics and research economists is responsible for the selection of the papers to be discussed at the Workshop. The panel comprises: Professor Richard Baldwin, Professor Julia Cajal (Graduate Institute), Nicolas Maystre (UNCTAD), Professor Monika Mrazova and Professor Frédéric Robert-Nicoud (University of Geneva) and Roberta Piermartini (WTO).
The programme is divided into two semesters: Autumn (from September to December) and Spring (February to June). Anyone who would like to present a paper in the workshop should submit it by email to the selection panel (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least two weeks before the start of the semester. The seminar programme is published one week before the first workshop.
Meetings usually take place every other Tuesday between 12:30 and 13:30 at the Graduate Institute. Registration is required for each workshop. To do so, please send an email to email@example.com.
