The Position of Arab Women on Boards of Listed Companies Within the Banking Sectors of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates: A Situational Analysis

This research project was designed to specifically survey women’s boardroom representation within the banking sectors of three MENA countries: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. It analyzes the gaps between government and company efforts to increase women’s participation within the financial sector, and the true state of women’s representation in executive bank positions. Additionally, this report identifies the specific barriers (personal, sociocultural and religious, legal, and organizational) to female participation on boards and obstacles hindering performance once in this positions.
