Mobilities, Migrations and Boundaries

Food Insecurity and Displacement: Country-Level Analysis of Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Libya

The aim of this project is to better understand food security levels in three countries – Afghanistan, Ethiopia and Libya, identifying the socio-economic and demographic factors that impact food security and analysing how displacement affects food security levels. The study employs qualitative and quantitative methods. Through a linear regression analysis of household surveys of the three countries, we find that factors such as gender of the head of the household, educational level, household size and type of residence (IDPs or returnees) have an effect on levels of food security.
