Ensuring Food Security: What Role for Business?

Building on the FAO World Summit on Food Security held in November 2009 and the renewed focus on the Millenium Development Goals, this forward-looking conference will address critical issues pertaining to business's engagement in enhancing agricultural productivity while considereing environmental impact and the role of state and non-state actors in facilitating this engagement.

Jean-Louis Arcand, Professor, Graduate Institute
Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Chairman of Nestlé S.A.
Stephen Hale, Head of Oxfam Geneva Office
Scott Poynton, Executive Director of The Forest Trust
Stefan Tangermann, former Director for Trade and Agriculture at the OECD
Willem Olthof, DG Development, European Union Commission.

Maria Cattaui, former Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce, will moderate the discussion.


Business leaders, representatives of NGOs, IOs, Permanent Missions in Geneva and academics will attend and share their views on these crucial topics.
