This panel discussion is organised by the Graduate Institute Centre for Finance and Development and the World Bank.

The World Development Report (WDR) 2014 addresses risk management from a multi-sectoral perspective. The report’s research and consultation process includes meetings of experts and policymakers from different fields and in all regions of the world. Among the issues the report seeks to understand are the political economy constraints to prevention; how to identify the responsibilities in risk management at different levels of society; and how to empower them to conduct responsible risk management. During the consultative session the team will present the main motivation and added value of the report as well as its proposed outline. The goal of the session is to obtain feedback on the report’s outline, its scope and the particular issues that should be addressed in it. In addition, the team will welcome any supporting materials that participants think could serve as background pieces for the report.
