Swiss Immigration Vote

Add to Calendar

Consequences for you, your organisation and the international community?

Switzerland narrowly voted in February to limit mass immigration in a referendum initiated by the Swiss Peoples' Party. The implications for Swiss-based international organisations and business are still unclear.

The vote appears to contradict more than 50 existing treaties, including many that Switzerland has signed with international organisations, as outlined in a Policy Brief from the Graduate Institute's Global Migration Centre.

  •  What will the vote mean for international organisations and business in Switzerland?
  •  How will this affect Switzerland's bilateral and multilateral relations with Europe and the rest of the world?
  •  How will it affect Swiss research, education and the economy?
  •  How secure are the jobs, property and family life of foreigners already living in Switzerland?

Join us for an interactive news briefing, moderated by Edward Girardet, Managing Editor of Le News, with:
