Auditorium Ivan Pictet B
Maison de la paix, Geneva

H.E. Susana Malcorra was appointed Foreign Relations Minister of Argentina on 24 November 2015. Prior to her appointment, she served as the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Field Support and, prior to that, as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Programme. Susana Malcorra has spent the majority of her professional career in the private sector, including as the CEO of Telecom Argentina, before joining the United Nations in 2004. Susana Malcorra graduated from the University of Rosario, Argentina, as an Engineer in Electronics. In 2016 she was formally nominated by Argentina as one of the candidates for UN Secretary General.

With multilateralism in the doldrums and the value of international institutions being questioned by many of their traditional supporters, new world voices are precious. As Argentina prepares to host the WTO’s 11th Ministerial Conference in December, the ITU’s 17th World Telecommunication Development Conference in October, the ILO’s IVth Global Conference on Child Labour in November and the 2018 G20 summit, the Graduate Institute’s Centre for Trade and Economic Integration is pleased to welcome H.E. Susana Malcorra, Argentina's Minister of Foreign Relations, who will set forth Argentina’s perspectives on the future world order.

Moderator: Joost Pauwelyn, Professor of International Law

Organised with the Graduate Institute’s Centre for Trade and Economic Integration.
