The Hidden Face of the 2022 World Cup: Migrant Workers in Qatar

, -
Add to Calendar

Thousands of migrant workers are currently in Qatar building infrastructure for the 2022 World Cup football championships.

News reports, human rights organisations, and the European Union have all condemned the conditions the workers face. The Qatari government has yet to provide any meaningful response to these concerns.

The Institute held an interactive news briefing with migration experts Vincent Chetail and François Crépeau on the legal and human rights issues of this situation.

Read media coverage of the event in the Tribune de Genève.
