This book launch is organised by the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP), in collaboration with the Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action (CERAH)

This edited volume examines the impact of manipulation on the effectiveness of humanitarian action. Starting with the origins of organized humanitarian action in the mid-19th century through the twenty-plus years since the end of the Cold War, the authors chronicle the successes and failures of the humanitarian enterprise, building on decades of experience at the frontlines of the world's most devastating crises.
