What if sharing solutions or telling a feel-good story was the best way to solve ecological, economic and social crises that affect our world? After a study was published announcing the possible extinction of humankind by the end of the 21st century, Cyril Dion and Mélanie Laurent, together with a team of four people, carried out an investigation in 10 different countries to figure out what may lead to this disaster and above all, how to avoid it.

The film Demain (2015, 118 minutes, in French with English subtitles) will be followed by a panel discussion (in English) with:

  • Susanna Hecht, Professor of International History and Associated Faculty of the Centre for International Environment Studies, the Graduate Institute, Geneva
  • Paul Mathieu, Adviser, Monetary and Capital Markets Department, International Monetary Fund, and alumnus of the Graduate Institute, Geneva
  • Filippo Veglio, Managing Director, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, and alumnus of the Graduate Institute, Geneva
  • Spencer Williams, President of the Environmental Committee, Graduate Institute Student Association

After the panel discussion, a Q&A session will follow in French and in English. This event is organised as part of the 6th annual Graduate Institute Alumni Reunion.

Entry is free; however, seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Maison de la paix’s cafeteria will be exceptionally open from 11:00-15:00 to welcome friends and family before the film begins.
