Have you ever wondered what it is like to defend detainees at Guantánamo who have alleged links to the 9/11 attacks? Would you like to get some insight into how international human rights and humanitarian law is used to help preserve the rights of such defendants when they have been brutally tortured?

A. Pradhan.jpg   Alka Pradhan currently represents Ammar al-Baluchi and will speak about various issues associated with his case as well as the general challenges associated with upholding international human rights and humanitarian law in Guantánamo military commissions. Ms. Pradhan is a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and has specialised on the intersection between international humanitarian law, human rights, and national security.
