After Graduation

What have our students done after they graduated? Here are some answers from the surveys conducted by the Institute.

summary

Our most recent surveys have been carried out in October 2018 among the 2017 graduates, as well as the alumni who graduated between 2010 and 2012.

One year after graduation, 98% of the graduates have a professional activity (full- or part-time) or professional training, such as law school.

Almost 50% of our graduates obtained their first long-term contract (at least one year) in less than three months after graduating, or even before they graduated.

One year after (2017)

One year after graduation, 98% of the graduates have a professional activity (full- or part-time or professional training, such as law school).

Almost all of the Institute’s students have obtained professional or internship experience during their studies, often in an international environment.

Almost 50% of our graduates obtained their first long-term contract (at least one year) in less than three months after graduating, or even before they graduated! Half of them sent five applications or less to obtain this position.

  • The public sector attracts 36% of our graduates: more than half of them join international organisations.

  • The third sector attracts 30% of graduates, many of whom chose non-governmental organisations working on a diverse range of issues.

  • The private sector accounts for 21% of our young graduates. Most of them chose multinationals and consulting.

  • The remaining 13% of our graduates either continued their studies towards a PhD or conducted research work as part of an academic institution.

Six to eight years after (2010-2012)

Six to eight years after their graduation, 89% of the alumni have a stable professional activity whereas 7% of them are on leave (maternity, etc.) or are stay-at-home moms/dads.

The employment by sector remains quite stable even though the private sector seems to attract the more seasoned graduates.

43% of graduates choose to stay in Switzerland while the rest went off to work all around the world.
