1 Nov 13.00-16.00 (Villa Barton) 8 nov 9.00-12.00 (UPR at UN) 6 Dec 9.30-16.30 (Villa Barton) The objective of this workshop is to confront the students to the interactions taking place inside the multilateral system and to the specificity of multilateral negotiation processes. Students participate in two role play simulations and attend one session at the UN that will give them the opportunity to see multilateral processes in action. The workshop includes two different simulation settings: a) one focuses on negotiation processes inside the UN, using the debates surrounding the topic of the Rights of Peasants inside the Human Rights Council. It is based on a real case that took place over the period 2012-2013. b) The second simulation will concentrate on the negotiation process inside the Convention on Biological Diversity, focusing on the debates around the revision of Aichi Target 11 inside the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020.
