Although the history books make little mention of them, EL ALAMEIN sets out to put the record straight, by showing how the Italians led one of the first, and most important, battles in the war. For added realism, Montleone drew on soldier's diaries and other important information from those who actually fought in the war, making this a particularly accurate depiction of the bloody battle as it played out. San José de Apartadó, dans la région de l'Uraba au nord-ouest de la Colombie, est un village posé dans un paysage montagneux et boisé que se dispute la guerilla et le gouvernement, sans oublier les para-militaires. En quête d'une solution pour survivre dans ce milieu hostile, les habitants de San José ont décidé de se former en communauté de paix en 1997. Depuis, malgré l'assassinat de plus de 150 membres de la communauté, ces habitants résistent, pacifiquement.
