Student Association

The Graduate Institute Student Association (GISA)

Each student automatically becomes a member of the Association which represents student interests with Management. The mission of the Association is to develop academic and social activities, promote harmony and understanding, and represent and defend student interests.

The Executive Committee of the Association is elected by members of the General Assembly. They represent the students within management and within different bodies in and outside the Institute. They are also responsible for organising the day-to-day activities of the Association.

Student representatives are elected at the start of each academic year by students in each class of each programme at the Institute. They represent their fellow students in the programme and communicate students’ concerns to Programme Directors and Heads of Units. They meet with the Association Committee to discuss issues common to all students. Finally, they are responsible for managing the funds made available to them by the Association and earmarked for the  organisation of student activities within each programme.
