Master in International Studies: International Law Specialization

The Master in International Studies (MIS), undertaken with a specialisation in International Law, is a two year program that provides in-depth training in international law. This programme also allows students to gain access, subject to certain conditions, to the PhD programme in international law.

The MIS requires intensive work at an advanced level in the field of international law, and familiarization with at least one other discipline (international economics, political science or international history and politics).

The degree programme comprises compulsory courses, optional seminars and the writing of an original research dissertation (mémoire) in the course of the second year.

The MIS program sets out to provide participants with the tools and approaches necessary for a rigorous analysis of contemporary international legal problems.

For more details on the MIS programme requirements see the links below regarding admission requirements, courses offered, and programme rules.

The Graduate Insitute also offers the MIS with specialisations in Economics, Politics & History, or Political Science, as well as other multidisciplinary Master's programmes.
