International Law Faculty

 

The Institute's international law professors and lecturers are highly regarded in their academic fields and are also engaged in key professional organisations, as well as consultancy and advice to governments and international organisations. They are a diverse group originating from around the globe, who bring to their research and teaching (in English and French) both academic rigour and current professional knowledge.

Their areas of teaching and research cover the full spectrum of international law, including: United Nations law, state responsibility, international settlement of disputes, jurisdiction and immunity, territory and sovereignty, international human rights, international humanitarian law, international criminal law, international environmental law, international economic law, WTO law, history and philosophy of international law, private international law, international contracts and many others.

The Permanent Faculty includes Professors and Lecturers of the Institute, including the Swiss Chair of Human Rights.

There are also Visiting Faculty, who are either working jointly with the Institute and the University of Geneva, or visiting from other universities or professional practice for one or more semesters.
