WIPO and International Intellectual Property Law (Spring - E806)

Course Description

 

This course will take a detailed look at the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and address salient issues on the international intellectual property agenda today. Topics will include:
(a) the objectives, structure, governance and legal status of WIPO;
(b) WIPO's relations with the UN and with WTO;
(c) Dispute Resolution under the Auspices of WIPO, including the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre and Internet Domain Name Dispute Resolution;
(d) TRIPS;
(e) IP and Development, including the Development Agenda at WIPO; and
(f) Enforcement of IP Rights.
