Agricultural Policies: Challenges and Constraints

Ronald Jaubert

MINT053 | Spring | 6ECTS

The need and importance of sound agricultural policies have been stressed by the recent food crisis. The latter clearly demonstrated the limits of market instruments to regulate the production and distribution of agricultural goods. The course addresses the challenges and debates regarding the definition and implementation of agricultural policies in their social, economic and environmental dimensions. Agriculture for development is a key concept of the proposed approach of agricultural policies. A particular attention will be paid to Sub Saharan countries.
