So, You Want to Be the Next High Commissioner? 2014 - WFUNA

From 21-25 July 2014, we organize our fourth Youth Human Rights Training, exceptionally open to non-UNA members as well.

The goal of the training, held in July at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, is to empower young individuals to take a leading role in upholding human rights in their communities and around the world.

An Update on Career Services

We are pleased to announce that Career Services will shortly hereafter be placed under the responsibility of Mrs Carine Leu, head of alumni & employers relations. Moreover, another person will be hired so as to strengthen the Career Services team.  

This service will ensure support for students, including those under contract (teaching and research assistants, and otherwise), by providing a wide array of tools to prepare them for their future careers.   

Permanent service hours will be set and made available to students.  

Furthermore, a committee bringing together the head of Career Services, GISA, and the DRH will meet regularly to discuss students' needs as well as to work to develop the service itself.

In sum, this service proposes to provide: the organisation of career training, workshops, events, and round-tables, as wellas personalised counselling in face-to-face meetings with professionals and partners of the Institute, notably with international Geneva and partners making part of the local, national, and international socio-economic fabric.

En 2013, 23 003 personnes travaillent au sein des vingt-neuf organisations internationales (OI) présentes sur le territoire du canton de Genève. En prenant en compte les 3 889 fonctionnaires des missions permanentes accréditées auprès de l'ONU ou d'autres OI, le secteur public international (hors consulats) emploie 26 892 personnes, soit 3 % de plus qu'en 2012.
