Executive Director, Centre for Trade and Economic Integration
Theresa Carpenter is Executive Director of the Centre for Trade and Economic Integration at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, Switzerland. In this capacity, she conducts and coordinates interdisciplinary research on the multilateral trading system and other international integration issues. Theresa’s current work focuses on the use of economics in the settlement of trade and investment disputes. Her recent work focuses on regional trade agreements and their relationship to the WTO. She is also the author of several chapters and the facilitator of several edited volumes on the multilateral trading system. In previous work, she focused on trade and multinationals. Dr. Carpenter received her PhD in Economics from the Graduate Institute of Geneva in 2006. Her prior experience includes a decade of work in management consultancy.
