Researchers
Michael Flynn is the founder and lead researcher of the Global Detention Project based at the Graduate Institute’s Program for the Study of Global Migration (http://www.globaldetentionproject.org/). Flynn is also director of IPS Right Web (http://www.rightweb.irc-online.org/), an online research and publishing project based at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC, that assesses the work of individuals and organizations pushing militarist U.S. foreign policies. A former associate editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists (http://www.thebulletin.org/), Flynn’s work has been supported by the International Reporting Project (formerly the Pew International Journalism Program), the Fund for Investigative Journalism, and the Geneva International Academic Network. His articles on immigration and politics have been published by the Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, the Inter Press Service, Asia Times, Mexico's Reforma, among other media outlets. He holds a BA in philosophy from DePaul University and an MA in international relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
