Programme for the Study of Global Migration

Created in January 2008, The Programme for the Study of Global Migration, based at the Graduate Institute, is devoted to the interdisciplinary study of migration linked to armed conflicts, generalized violence, persecution and ecological disasters. The Programme also focuses on the phenomenon of 'economic migration' and its contemporary implications.

The UNHCR Archives and the Programme have agreed to continue their collaboration until the end of 2010 with a new project that aims to facilitate access of researchers to UNHCR archival holdings and increase the visibility of UNHCR Archives.

New PSGM publication:A Review of International Migration Policies”, by Narada Luckanachai and Matthias Rieger for the Programme for the Study of Global Migration (the International Labour Organization (ILO), International Institute for Labour Studies, 2010.) The report is the result the research project Review of international practices: Migration, Labour Markets, Development carried for the ILO.
