Powershift in Global Health

The Global Health Programme provides a better understanding of the shifting power balance in global health – for example the increasing influence of emerging economies and the powerful role played by new foundations, the private sector and non governmental organizations.

The 2008 Second High-Level Symposium entitled "Negotiating Health in the 21st Century: Analysing the Powershift in Global Health at National and Global Level” discussed the consequences of this shift. Presentations and papers can be accessed under Symposium 2008. A publication is in preparation.

The 2009 Third High-Level Symposium entitled “Negotiating Health in the 21st Century: Regional Voices in Global Health Governance” will explore the emerging regional dimensions of global health. For more information, please click here.
