Leon Saltiel holds a Ph.D. in Contemporary Greek History from the University of Macedonia, in Thessaloniki, Greece, with a focus on the Holocaust in Thessaloniki. He is currently researching issues of collaboration, rescue efforts, property restitution and memory. Dr. Saltiel has more than 15 years experience on human rights issues around the world, the majority of which was working with the United Nations institutions in Geneva. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Georgetown University, earning a master’s degree in Foreign Service. He has received fellowships, among others, from the German Marshall Fund, Yad Vashem, and the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy. Dr. Saltiel is member of several research projects and has published articles in important historical publications.
