Aurélie Elisa Gfeller completed her Ph.D. in history at Princeton University in 2008. In 2000, she received a licence ès lettres (joint BA/MA in history, art history, and French) from the University of Lausanne and in 2001 an MA in international relations from Stanford University. Before joining the Graduate Institute, she was a research fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence. Her current research focuses on cultural heritage and its interconnections with global culture, politics, and economics.
