Seyoung Park is a judge in the Republic of Korea and is studying at the International Law Department at the Graduate Institute as a Visiting Fellow. She was selected to be dispatched to Geneva by the Supreme of Korea for overseas research for the first time.
She passed the bar exam in 2006 and became the youngest judge in Korea in 2009. Since then, she has handled both domestic and international cases in various fields of law, as a member of the Supreme Court. She has dealt with a number of court cases, relating to damages, maritime law and corrruption, in addition to others, while presiding over both civil and criminal trials. She has also conducted studies in research groups consisting of judges and lawyers, in order to link legal theories and lawsuit practice. Her current research focuses on state responsibility for transboundary pollution and climate change in international damage litigation.
