International Executive Master in Development Studies (IMAS)

1 August 2011 - 5 April 2012

  • Applications must be received no later than 31 January 2011.

What is the IMAS?

 The IMAS is a graduate Executive Education programme in development studies; it is a 9-month programme divided into 3 phases, partially decentralised.

It is intended to strengthen the decision-making capacity of development professionals working in the public and private sectors for the collective good.

The programme offers them the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to their professional experience, while at the same time developing analytical skills and attitudes that are crucial to the success of their activities. The IMAS focuses on the analysis of specific development issues and the links between local and global challenges.

ITS STRENGTH

  • a central theme that constitutes a major challenge for all decision-makers: “Development and globalisation, between growth and exclusion”;
  • an “international” dimension reflected in a student body made up of candidates from four continents, cooperation among institutes from Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia, and teaching conducted by a local and international faculty;
  • a nurturing environment, adapted to the cultural diversity and specific needs of each student;
  • a field study, the core element of the IMAS programme, which presents an analysis of a specific issue and is of particular interest to the student’s host institution;
  • a large network of students who, upon completion of the course, will return home and occupy positions of responsibility and who are given the opportunity to develop fruitful collaboration.
