Seminars & Events

The Economics unit organizes several lively seminar series attracting academics and policymakers from around the world.

Additional seminars at the University of Geneva and Lausanne (no more than 30 minutes away), make for one of the liveliest joint seminar offerings in Europe.

• Research Seminar 
  At this venue, outside scholars come to present their latest papers every other week in order to keep students and faculty at the forefront of research. More information on past and forthcoming speakers can be found here.

• International Centre for Money and Banking Lectures 
  The ICMB Center - a highly influential and well respected think tank associated with the Economics department, headed by Professor Charles Wyplosz – organizes a series of lectures open to students and faculty. (The ICMB website offers more information.)

• Institute Public Lectures|
  The Graduate Institute of International Studies organizes a series of high-profile lectures with leading policymakers. Occasionally, these focus on topics of economics.

• Development Therapy
  This is an informal bi-monthly meeting for faculty and graduate students to present ongoing research and to receive constructive comments and criticism that will further its development. The seminar welcomes research that draws on the full range of topics within the discipline of development economics.

• External Seminars 
  Students and professors are always invited to economic seminars of the University of Geneva and the University of Lausanne.
