  Thinking Ahead on International Trade (TAIT)  

 

Thinking ahead on International Trade (TAIT) is a research programme devoted to the analyses of medium-term challenges facing the international trade system in general and the WTO in particular. While founded on scholarship, the analysis is undertaken in association with public and business sector actors.  
     
  Trade Law Clinic  

 

The Trade Law Clinic is part of a seminar (E450) given by Prof. Joost Pauwelyn. It offers an opportunity to thoroughly analyse WTO dispute settlement rules and jurisprudence through a combination of practice and theory. Students work in groups and under supervision to deal with legal questions coming from real clients, including ICTSD, UNCTAD and OXFAM.

  WTO Moot Court Competition  

 

The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) organises the Moot Court Competition on International Trade Law. This simulated hearing, based on the World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute settlement system, involves not only law students from the entire world, but also several respected trade law experts and WTO legal officers.
     
  The Calculation and Design of Trade Sanctions in WTO Dispute Settlement  
18th  to 19th  July, 2008
The Centre organised a two-day interdisciplinary workshop on the calculation and design of trade sanctions in WTO dispute settlement. Several original papers were commissioned for the conference, and are now published as a volume by Cambridge University Press.
