IA024 | Autumn | 3 ECTS

The Workshop is an introduction to the management of projects and programs, illustrated by practical examples of, primarily, non-profit interventions in developing countries (Mali, Cape Verde, Columbia, Vietnam). The workshop makes a link between theory and practice. The conceptual discussions always refer to the applicability on the field. The participants acquire the basic notions of strategic project management and are able to use some of the tools in an autonomous way. The Workshop is based on a mixed pedagogical method: a) inputs coming from the teachers and b) strongly participation of the students, in plenary discussions and working groups. The students receive bibliographical indications and texts for the preparation of each lesson. Regarding the practical work, every student has to choose in the beginning of the workshop to be part of one of a working group. For each case study the students will receive a document. The practical exercises will be based on the case study.

The participants acquire the basic notions of strategic project management and are able to use some of the tools in an autonomous way.
