This course provides an introduction to statistical methods for master students in the international relations/political science programme. The course will cover core statistical concepts including descriptive measures, probability, random variables, sampling distributions, estimation and hypothesis testing for one and two populations, Chi-square procedures, linear regression and correlation, and provide an introduction to multivariate analysis. Students are expected to develop an understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and apply these concepts to a series of practical exercises using STATA.
