Luana Vincenza Thür, actuellement en quatrième semestre du programme de master en histoire et politique internationales, a passé son troisième semestre à la George Washington University.

"There is perhaps no great need to explain why being on an exchange semester in Washington DC this past fall was a unique and unforgettable experience. Rare is the occasion to get a "local" perspective on a historic election and an important financial crisis within only a few months.

Apart from these events, the academic experience at the Elliott School contributed in important ways to my personal and professional development. The very interactive classes taught me more about the various "American" ways of approaching international politics and the international students contributed to the broad-based discussions in an interesting way.

Moreover, DC is a great place for events related to any field from regional studies over security studies, to trade and development issues or political and historical subjects; several lectures and panel discussions are organized each day and host some of the best-known scholars and practitioners from all over the English-speaking world. For people interested in getting one of the famous jobs in the US capital, there is plenty of opportunity to network. For me, however, the most exciting part of my stay was following a presidential election in the capital through local media and conversations with the voters."

Raphael Jeronimo Calderon est étudiant en quatrième semestre du programme de master en science politique. Il vient de participer à un échange avec Science-Po Paris.

"Studying abroad was an experience of inestimable value for the successful completion of my studies. Dealing on a daily basis with a different academic world, culture, language and getting to know other curious students from all across the world was highly rewarding both on a personal and a professional level."
