Exchange - Admission Conditions - Incoming Students
In order to enable exchange students to take the best advantage from their stay in Geneva, we expect them to have a solid background in the studies they plan to pursue at the Institute.
Courses at the Institute are taught in both English and French.
English: Candidates must show proof of proficiency in English and include a language certificate (for more details, please refer to the general admission conditions of the Institute). Candidates of English mother tongue or who have studied English and hold a diploma in this language are exempt from this requirement.
French: Advanced French language skills are not necessary, however, as some of the courses are taught in French, students with prior knowledge of french will have more course options to choose from.
Candidates are selected by their home university. Therefore, for information on procedures, please refer to the internal procedure of your university first.
Please fill in the Application File and submit it to your home university together with all required documents.
Autumn semester: April 1st
An interdisciplinary committee will then examine the applications. Successful candidates will be informed by mail within a few weeks.
