Centres and ProgrammesThe task of the Institute’s Centres and Programmes is to contribute to the analysis of current global issues drawing on the intellectual resources of International Geneva, and to disseminate the results of the research in a format useful to international actors through publications, roundtables and executive education courses. Centre for Asian StudiesCAS research and training activities aim at building on the richness of the disciplinary and interdisciplinary traditions of the Graduate Institute in order to foster a better understanding of the ongoing transformation of Asian societies and the process of global ‘Re-Orient-ation’ of international relations. Centre for International Environmental StudiesCIES focuses on the social and economic issues relating to international environmental problems. It brings together political, economic and legal perspectives on these issues, and operates several important ongoing activities: the Geneva Dialogues on International Environmental Problems; the Seminar Series on the International Environment; and the Geneva Conference on the Global Environment. Centre for Trade and Economic IntegrationCTEI is the Graduate Institute's centre of excellence for research on international trade. The Centre brings together the research activities of eminent professors of economics, law and political science in the areas of trade, economic integration and globalisation. Centre on Conflict, Development and PeacebuildingThe CCDP is the Graduate Institute’s focal point for research in the areas of conflict analysis, humanitarianism, peacebuilding, and the complex relationships between security and development. Its research projects focus on the factors and actors that are implicated in the production and reproduction of violence within and between societies and states, as well as on policies and practices to reduce violence and insecurity and enhance development and peacebuilding initiatives at the international, state, and local levels. Global Health ProgrammeThis programme focuses on the interface between foreign policy, economics, development and health. It examines the characteristics and mechanisms that define successful global health diplomacy and governance. Programme for the Study of Global MigrationThis programme is devoted to the interdisciplinary study of population movements and aims at producing cutting-edge research and expertise on the causes and impacts of migration. Its primary focus is on movements linked to armed conflict, generalised violence, persecution and ecological disasters. PROGRAMME FOR THE STUDY OF INTERNATIONAL GOVERNANCEProviding a forum for scholars of governance and international organisations to interact with practitioners from the policy world, this programme analyzes governance arrangements across a variety of issues. Its work is focused around three dynamic activities: a visitors programme; two seminar series; and research projects. Programme on Gender and Global ChangeThe programme on Gender and Global Change offers training, research, debate and theorization resources in order to facilitate the integration of gender perspectives in development programmes and policies, with a particular emphasis on the Francophone world. |
