OBJECTIVES

The core objective of the IMAS is to promote sustainable human development that is equitable and respectful of cultural and social diversity.

The “International” component of the programme is reflected in a student body made up of candidates from four continents; cooperation among institutes in Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia; and teaching carried out by local and international faculty members.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have :

  • strengthened their collective decision-making capacity;
  • acquired the ability to make linkages between their professional situation and problems inherent to globalisation;
  • drafted a dissertation based on a field study;
  • enhanced their knowledge through contact with people from other continents;
  • an internationally-recognised diploma (Master of Advanced Studies).

CORE THEME

The IMAS combines theoretical knowledge of major development challenges with practical experience of participants around a core theme: Development and globalisation, between growth and exclusion.
