Could you describe your current position?
As a secrétaire-juriste for the Juvenile Court of the State of Geneva, I am responsible for following cases concerning teenagers aged between 15-18 years. I am mainly responsible for assisting the judges in the drafting and writing of rulings, ie protection measures (eg placement of juveniles in institutions, referral to social workers or treatment programs) and sanctions (eg the imposition of personal services or detention).
How do you think the ExecutiveMaster INP will be beneficial to your career plans and projects?
I wanted to gain a better understanding of how decisions were made at the international level. In addition, I wanted to acquire new tools in order to look at global challenges from a different perspective (than legal). Indeed, I now have a much broader picture of how international policy making is shaped.
Why did you choose the Graduate Institute?
The Graduate Institute has an excellent academic reputation and is viewed by international organisations as one of the top universities. Studying there was also a way to meet participants from all over the world.
How was your participation experience ?
I enjoy the balance between academic courses and practical training. Also, I appreciate that the professors and invited experts are always available to answer questions on an individual basis. Finally, the Executive Master allows me to meet and share great moments with other participants.
