Could you describe your current position?
I have been working as a Human Resources specialist in training, development and project management for Polo Ralph Lauren. My workload has involved juggling multiple requests from diverse stakeholders across international offices and cultures while promoting a unified approach to global HR operations.
How do you think the ExecutiveMaster INP will be beneficial to your career plans and projects?
I was searching for a programme where I could leverage my business background and enhance my influencing skills.
The INP concentration, in particular, really tries to integrate theory and policy with practitioner curriculum.
In addition, I really wanted to enter an institution where I could learn just as much from the student body as I could from the professors. The INP programme features an impressive combination of students from diverse backgrounds, age groups and experience levels that would allow me to do just that.
Why did you choose the Graduate Institute?
One of the primary reasons I was attracted to the Graduate Institute was that, unlike many other international affairs institutions, the Graduate Institute is truly a professional school. The coursework, the atmosphere, the professors, and even the students, many of whom already have extensive work experience, represent a professional and practitioner-oriented programme –not just a policy-oriented one.
I had talked to a previous alumna who was extremely positive about her experience and the access she had to international organisations.
The location was an important factor, as it offers a view of the world with many cultures and languages at your doorstep.
How was your participation experience?
I have been enjoying the classroom experience tremendously. The combination of lectures, case studies and simulations are engaging and challenging. The programme structure encourages class participation in a collegial and lively environment and the topics we discuss are relevant to real world situations.
