CO-DIRECTOR, EXECUTIVE MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL NEGOTIATION AND POLICY-MAKING

 

Matthew Leitner has been actively teaching at the Graduate Institute for the past 15 years. Previously a commercial pilot, he changed career vocation and became Teacher in College du Leman and then Lecturer in History and International Politics at the Graduate Institute. Amongst his academic interests one finds history and the role of cinema in international relations. He also provides doctoral and executive education students with methodological training and guides them through historical roots of international relations.
Matthew has also a long-standing interest in a number of development programs in Southeast Asia, and he has been the Vice-President of Krousar Thmey, a non-profit humanitarian organization working with deprived children in Cambodia, for the past 15 years. His most recent research consists of monographs on the political/economic situation in certain Southeast Asian nations and program evaluations commissioned by ONG's working in the region of Southeast Asia. Matthew worked as an educational consultant to the Bhutanese Government in 2002.
While originally from the United States, Matthew Leitner has been living with his family in the region around Annecy, France since 1977. Matthew obtained his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Geneva (HEI) in 1993.

Dr Sophie Huber Kodbaye

CO-DIRECTOR, EXECUTIVE MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL NEGOTIATION AND POLICY-MAKING

 

Prior to joining the Executive Education in January 2011 as the Executive Director, Sophie Huber was the Managing Director of the Centre for International Governance since June 2008.

Sophie Huber was a Training Officer and Programme Coordinator at the Centre for Applied Studies in International Negotiations, a Geneva-based think-tank. She has organised training programmes for diplomats and high-level civil servants from the DPRK, Iraq, Algeria and Guinea among others, during which she has taught on global governance, the external relations of the European Union, and multilateral negotiations.

Sophie Huber has also been involved in academia, organising and participating in conferences on European integration history and politics. She has published some of her work and continues research on European identity discourses. Sophie Huber holds a degree from the Institut d'études politiques (Sciences Po) in Strasbourg, a M.A. in International History and Politics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva and a PhD in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Andrés Olleta
Andrés Olleta

ASSISTANT, EXECUTIVE MASTER IN INTERNATIONAL NEGOTIATION AND POLICY-MAKING

Andrés Olleta holds a Law Diploma from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Bahía Blanca (Argentina) and a Masters Degree in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, where he received the David de Pury scholarship for two consecutive years. He is currently a Ph.D candidate in the International Law section of the Graduate Institute. For three years he worked as a law researcher at the Geneva office of the International Environmental Law Research Centre (IELRC) and has also been hired as a consultant for the Competition Research for Economic Development project (CRED) of the International Development Research Centre, Canada.

 

Andrés administrates the programme and is the focal point for participants and Faculty.
