En tant qu’institution de recherche, notre mission est de produire et de diffuser les connaissances, de contribuer aux progrès et aux débats de la communauté scientifique mondiale, d’enrichir l’étude sur les défis du monde d’aujourd’hui et d’offrir des analyses pertinentes aux acteurs internationaux, pour favoriser des réflexions appronfondies sur les grands problèmes contemporains.

Les enseignants et les chercheurs de l'Institut collaborent dans des équipes interdisciplinaires dans nos centres et programmes de recherche et forment des communautés disciplinaires engagées dans la recherche et la formation à la recherche dans nos départements académiques. Ils recrutent des chercheurs dans le monde entier pour constituer des réseaux informels ou centrés sur des projets.

Event Kicks off Afghanistan Project
28.03.2013 - Last week on 21 and 22 March, an international team of researchers, headed by Professor Alessandro Monsutti in collaboration with Antonio Donini, from the Feinstein International Center, Tufts University, came to the Graduate Institute for a workshop entitled “Afghanistan in Perspective: Understanding Social Change”.

New Project at CIES

21.03.2013 - Marie Curie Fellow, Joëlle Noailly, will explore green tech in developing countries. Today CO2 emissions produced by the developing world exceed those from developed countries while most of the investment and know how surrounding green technology is concentrated in the developed world.

07.03.2013 - The Graduate Institute’s Programme for the Study of Global Migration is pleased to welcome Jean-François Durieux as Research Associate who will be carrying out work as part of a new and ground breaking initiative, the Humanitarian Innovation Project, based at the Oxford University’s Refugee Studies Centre.
Civil Society and the Arab Spring
04.03.2013 - The Institute’s Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) and the American University in Cairo (AUC)’s School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), organised a consultation entitled “Civil Society in Transitions: Facing Current Challenges in Tunisia and Egypt” in February, in Cairo.
