Baasankhuu Ganbaatar
National University of Mongolia

Ms. Baasankhuu Ganbaatar earned an M.A. in International Relations from MGIMO (University) of the Russian Federation. She is currently a senior lecturer at the School of Foreign Service, National University of Mongolia. Her research interests include theories of international politics, international security, and decision making in foreign policy. Recent publications include about 30 research articles dealing with Theory of International Politics and International Security Issues. Among her publications are "Ensuring Small States' Security by Political and Diplomatic means: Case of Mongolia" in Security of States Other than Major Powers (2010), "Ensuring Small States Security: Some Theoretical and Practical Issues" in Security of Small States: Present and Future (2010), and "Environmental Security Issues in the Theory of International Politics" in Environmental Security in East Asia (2007). She is currently doing research on the security of small states.

 

Wekesa  
Peter Wafula WEKESA
Kenyatta University, Nairobi
Dr Wekesa is currently a lecturer in the Department of History, Archeology and Political studies at Kenyatta University, Nairobi. He is the departmental seminar coordinator and student advisor. He received his PhD in 2007 from Kenyatta University, an MA in 2000 and BA Hons in 1996. The title of his PhD thesis was ‘History of Community Relations across the Kenya-Uganda Border: The case of the Babukusu and the Bagisu, 1884-1997’. His area of teaching, research and publication has been on contemporary Issues in the International History and Politics of Africa, East Africa and Kenya in particular. Currently, his teaching at both undergraduate and post graduate levels includes courses on Themes in African history, African International Relations and politics. He has published several articles and contributed book chapters on International Border Politics, conflicts over trans-boundary resources and Community relations in East Africa. He has also presented papers at various international and regional conferences on cultural issues, popular music and gender issues. He is a member of several African and international research organizations including CODESRIA, OSSREA, ARBONE, DAAD, BIEA, IFRA among others.

Yasmeen Arif
University of Delhi
Yasmeen Arif is currently Associate Professor in Sociology/Social Anthropology, University of Delhi, India. Her ongoing research engagement is with post – crises conditions that cover a global terrain of catastrophic/critical events (political violence or natural disasters) with an intention of forming an anthropological notion of ‘recovery’. Addressing these issues as a ‘politics of life”, she is currently completing a manuscript called “afterlife, reclaiming life after catastrophe”. A second forthcoming manuscript - “The Audacity of Method” - focuses on issues of social anthropological knowledge production, method and theory.  She has held teaching and research positions at the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities); Center for the Study of Developing Societies, Delhi and the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
