The Institute is pleased to welcome recent PhD graduates with independent external funding or grants (Marie Curie Fellows, SNSF, Ambizione Fellows, etc.) keen to undertake research in one of its fields of specialisation.
The Institute provides access to its facilities. The status of the visiting academics at the Institute will be commensurate with the conditions contractually agreed upon with the body responsible for funding their research.
Individuals with external funding involved in long-term research who are interested in becoming affiliated with the Institute should find a professor of contact to support their project.

- A letter of motivation stating the reasons for the application, the preferred semester, the discipline or domain of specialisation of the Institute in which the candidate is interested:
- A brief summary of the research project;
- A curriculum vitae, and if available, a list of publications.
