Programme

Timetable

Sessions will be held from 9 am to 5 pm from Monday 13 to Friday 17 August 2012.

Morning sessions will be introduced by a guest speaker and followed by presentations by participants. Lunch will be provided for the participants. Afternoons will include a discussion on the papers presented, visits and free time. Some social activities may be organised in the evenings.

 

Paper presentations

All participants will be expected to present a research paper during the workshop and to participate in discussions of other participants' research papers.

 

Prior to the workshop:

By 30 June 2012 at the latest:

  • Participants send a short essay to the workshop convenors summarising the research papers that they will present during the workshop (approx. 6,000 words);
  • Workshop convenors assign discussants to each paper.

 

By 30 July 2012 at the latest:

  • Discussants send their comments on the essay (approx. 2,000 words);
  • All papers and comments will be available online on a password-protected platform. Participants are expected to read all papers and comments prior to the workshop and to be able to contribute fully to the discussions and to help their fellows' research. 

Please note that failure to follow the above instructions will be considered as a cancellation of your participation to the workshop.

 

During the workshop:

  • Each participant will be expected to present their paper and address the comments of discussants in 15 minutes.
  • Discussants will have 10 minutes to react to the presentation and comments.
  • Faculty and participants will discuss the research and advise the participant (20 minutes).

 

Guest lectures and programme:

  • Morning sessions will be introduced with a lecture by one of the Workshop convenors or Guest speakers
  • Visits will be organised
