Dr. Monique J. Beerli is currently a Swiss National Science Foundation postdoctoral fellow. Her new project, “Governing the Global Governors: Administrative Practices and Power Struggles within International Aid Bureaucracies,” provides historical and anthropological insights into the politics of staff management policies and reforms. She has previously worked on the emergence of security professionals within international humanitarian organizations, and the effects of such professional transformations on humanitarian work.
