Executive Programe for Global Health Leadership: Lead the world to a healthier future
|Organized by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine|
This flagship 10-month Executive Programme is planned to launch in September 2017, and will combine three one-week residential components with inter-residential phases providing Executive Programme Fellows (participants) with Executive Coaching and health-topic expert mentorship tailored to individual needs.
A key element will be hearing directly from successful health leaders who will share with Fellows case studies of how they ‘made the difference’ and brought about change in activities which impacted population health on a large scale. They will speak candidly about the challenges they faced - the politics, the expertise and the personal - and what, with reflection, they would want to tackle differently in retrospect.
The programme counts on world class partners in the UK, Geneva and South Africa, to ensure the highest level quality during Residential Weeks, which will focus on three distinct agendas:
ensuring health issues are high on national political agendas (London residential week in conjunction with the Royal Institute for International Affairs, Chatham House)
engaging world players and operating on the global stage (Geneva residential week with the Global Health Centre, Graduate Institute)
successful implementation and delivery through systems leadership (Cape Town residential week in conjunction with the Health Policy and Systems Division, School of Public Health and Family Medicine, the University of Cape Town).
During the inter-residential phases, Fellows will benefit from bespoke services to support their leadership initiatives while they continue in their working role. Individually crafted programmes will be offered for each Fellow, designed with input from the Fellows’ Leadership Coach (offering one-to-one Executive Coaching) and LSHTM health topic Mentorship.
