Project Direction William Drake, PSIO Associate
Funding miscellaneous

Objectives

  • The project's primary focus is on the information revolution's impact on global governance within the information and communication technology (ICT) sector. It examines the historical evolution and contemporary transformation of the global communications order---the nexus of international regimes governing international telecommunications, radio frequency spectrum, satellite systems, trade in electronic services, intellectual property, Internet governance, cyber-security, and so on;
  • The project's secondary focus is on the flip side of the coin---the information revolution's impact on global governance outside the ICT sector, i.e. in such fields as international conflict management and humanitarian affairs, crime and terrorism, human rights, trade, development, labour, natural resources, energy, and environmental policies.
