Research at the CCDP

CCDP's Approach

CCDP projects apply cutting-edge research methods that combine qualitative and quantitative approaches to data collection and analysis. With a team of faculty members and researchers spanning all the disciplines studied at the Graduate Institute and offering a wealth of practical field experience, the CCDP’s competitive advantage lies in the multi-disciplinary perspective adopted for each project. The work consciously departs from a purely problem-solving and policy-oriented approach in order to deliver focused, rigorous and substantively new outputs and contributions to both academic and practitioner debates.

Project Deliverables

CCDP project outcomes are disseminated via multiple channels including lectures, seminars and practitioner briefings; succinct in-house publications targeting specific audiences; academic journal articles; book-length contributions in its Routledge Series on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding; online databases; and curriculum development for training modules. The CCDP systematically seeks to promote knowledge transfers between research and policy, and to encourage cooperation between Northern and Southern researchers.

Partners

Research at the CCDP is conducted with a variety of partners and sponsors across the globe, operating at the Swiss, international and field levels. These include private and public foundations, donor governments, international organizations, international and local NGOs, think-tanks, and university departments. Emphasis is placed on providing opportunities for local researchers to get involved in projects and be active members of the CCDP’s research teams.
