The Geneva Forum

The Geneva Forum is a joint initiative of the Quaker United Nations Office, Geneva (QUNO), the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), and the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding (CCDP) of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

The overarching objective is to contribute to international peace and security by building partnerships among and between governments, international organisations and NGOs on disarmament and arms control issues of common concern.

The Geneva Peacebuilding Platform

On 11 March 2008, the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform was launched. The Geneva Peacebuilding Platform will serve as a ‘knowledge platform’ to advance practical understanding of the key issues in peacebuilding, to break down the institutional and organisational barriers to effective coordination by different stakeholders, and to provide policy-relevant advice and services. It aims to be particularly relevant the work of the UN Peacebuilding Commission and Peacebuilding Support Office. The Platform will house the International Geneva Peacebuilding Guide, the result of a comprehensive mapping of peacebuilding expertise in Geneva conducted by means of survey in the fall of 2007.
